Section 30 in The West Bengal Factories Rules, 1958

30. How to introduce steam for humidification.

In any room in which steam pipes are used for the introduction of steam for the purpose of artificial humidification of the air the following provisions shall apply-
(a)The diameter of such pipes shall not exceed [50 mm] [Substituted by W. B. Factories Amendment Rules, 1991, dated 27.11.1991] and in the case of pipes installed after day of January 1940 the diameter shall not exceed [25 mm.] [Substituted by W. B. (b)Such pipes shall be as short as is reasonably practicable.
(c)All hangers supporting such pipes shall be separated from the bare pipes by an efficient insulator not less than 13 mm. in thickness.
(d)No uncovered jet from such pipe shall project more than 11 cm. Beyond me outer surface of any cover.
(e)The steam pressure shall be as low as practicable and shall not exceed [5] [Substituted by W. B. Factories Amendment Rules, 1991,] kilogram per square centimeter.
(f)[ The steam pipe line used for the introduction of steam into the air in a department shall be effectively covered with the heat insulating material, as may be approved by the Inspector in order to minimize the amount of heat radiation from the steam pipe into the department;] [Substituted by W.
