Section 426 in Bihar Education Code, 1961

426. Use of Educational films in schools.

- With a view to ensure maximum use of film as medium of visual education and as a part of an integrated programme for education in schools at the various stages of instruction, the attention of teachers and of others using the educational film is drawn to the procedure, briefly described as follows:-
(i)The teacher should be acquainted with the contents of the film and should have seen the film before it is shown to the class in order to know that it has a direct relation to the objectives of unit under study.
(ii)Before the film is shown, the class should be prepared for the acceptance of its contents. A prior preparation will heighten the interest in the film as well as increase the understanding as the children will know the specific objectives to look for while seeing the film.
(iii)After showing the film, the teacher should organise following up activities on the subject of the film as well as on related aspects. A good film will suggest a variety of interesting activities and subjects for discussion, which could, be fully explained by the alert teacher.
Government of India, have set up a Central Film Library which gives on loan films of predominantly educational character to educational institutions which should equip themselves with projection equipment consisting of a screen, 16 mm. sound projector and 35 mm. film-strip projector.(Government of India letter no.
