Section 5 in Andhra Pradesh Regulation of Admissions into Post Graduate Engineering Including Technology/Pharmacy/ Architecture and Planning Courses (through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering and Common Entrance Test) Rules, 2007

5. Method of Admission.

- The general guidelines for the admission of candidates into Professional Institutions offering Post Graduate Engineering, including Technology / Pharmacy/ Architecture and Planning Courses, shall be as follows:-
(i)The admissions into all the University colleges offering Post Graduate Engineering, including Technology/ Pharmacy/Architecture and Planning Course, shall be made through Single Window System in the order of merit, firstly on the basis of GATE score and vacant seats, if any, on the basis of rank assigned in PGECET as per Rule 5 of the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering including Technology'/ Pharmacy/Architecture and Planning Courses Common Entrance Test Rules, 2007 following Rules of Reservation as prescribed in Rule 7 hereunder.
(ii)All the seats in Unaided Minority / Non-Minority Institutions offering Post Graduate Engineering, including Technology /Pharmacy /Architecture and Planning Courses, shall be filled as follows:
(a)All the Category-A seats shall be filled by the respective Institutions by admitting candidates as allotted by the Convener of PGECET admissions/Convener of PGECET - AC admissions, as the case may be, depending upon the option exercised by the institution as per clause (iv) of sub rule (a) of Rule 11 of the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering including Technology / Pharmacy/ Architecture and Planning Courses Common Entrance Test Rules, 2007.
(b)All the Category-B seats shall be filled by the respective Institutions on merit basis following the procedure laid down in of Rule 6(ii) hereunder
(c)The admission of the candidates made in various Un-aided Non-Minority and Minority Professional Institutions shall be subject to scrutiny by the inspecting Authority appointed for the purpose.
(iii)The Convener of PGECET admissions/Convener of PGECET -AC admissions shall allot candidates to Institutions in terms of Rules laid down herein.
(iv)The admissions shall be made in the order of merit firstly on the basis of GATE score and then on the basis of ranking assigned in PGECET/PGECET -AC as per Rule 5 or Rule 11 © (vii) of the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering including Technology/ Pharmacy/Architecture and Planning Courses Common Entrance. Test Rules, 2007. The total number of candidates to be admitted in all the Professional Institutions offering Post Graduate Engineering, including Technology/ Pharmacy/Architecture and Planning Courses shall not exceed the limits prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education from time to time.
