Section 50 in THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986

50. Power of Government to cause inspection of the

University.- (I) The Government shall have the right to cause aninspection to be made by such person or persons as they maydirect of the University, its buildings, laboratories, libraries,museums, workshops and equipments and of any institutionsmaintained, recognised or approvedby, the University and alsoof the work conducted by the Univeristy, and to cause enquiryto be made in respect of any matter connected with theUniversity.
(2)The Government shall; before taking any actionunder sebsection (I) give notice to the University of theirintention to cause such inspection or enquiry to be made andthe University shall be entitled to be represented thereat.
(3)The Government shall communicate to the Syndicatethe result of any inspection or inquiry made under sub-section
(1)and may, after ascertaining the opinion of the syndicatethereon, convey their views to the Vice-Chancellor and to theSyndicate.
(4)The Govenment may, after considering the vieps ofthe Vice-Chancellor and the Syndicate on the result of anyinspection or inquiry under sub-section (I), advise the Universityupon the action to be taken in the matter.
(5)The Syndicate shall report to the Government theaction, if any which is proposedto be taken, or has been takenupon the result ofany inspection or inquiry undersub-section(1)
(6)A report under sub-section (5) shall be submittedwith the opinionofthe Syndicate thereon and within such timeas the Government may direct.
(7)Where the Syndicate does not, within a reasonabletime, take any action referred to in sub-sectio (4) to thesatisfaction of the Government, the Govenment may, afterconsidering any explanation furnished by the Syndicate in thematter, issue such directions as they may think tit, and theSyndicate shall comply with such directions.
