Section 13 in The Rajasthan Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur Act, 2000

13. Academic Council.

(1)Academic Council shall consist of the following, namely:-
(i) The Vice-Chancellor Ex-officio Chairman
(ii) The Directors of Resident Instruction, Research and ExtensionEducation Ex-officio Member
(iii) Deans of the various facilties Ex-officio Member
(iv) The Librarian Ex-officio Member
(v) The Students Welfare Officer Ex-officio Member
(vi) The Controller of Examination Ex-officio Member
(vii) One or two Heads of the Departments from each facultynominated by the Vice-Chancellor on rotational basis Member
(viii) One Associate Director, Research and Extension to be nominatedby the Vice-Chancellor on rotational basis Member
(ix) All Associate Deans/Principals of the Colleges Member
(x) One teacher from each faculty to be nominated by theVice-Chancellor on rotational basis and in the prescribed manner Member
(xi) One eminent agriculture educationist from outside theUniversity to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor Member
(xii) Registrar Secretary.
(2)Academic Council may co-opt as members not more than four persons in such manner as may be prescribed so as to secure adequate representation of different sectors of agriculture and allied fields.
(3)All members of the Academic Council other than the ex-officio members and members referred in sub-section (2) shall hold office for a term of two years.
(4)One third of the members of the Academic Council shall form quorum at a meeting of the Council:Provided that if a meeting of the Council is adjourned for want of quorum, no quorum shall be necessary at the next meeting for the transaction of the same business.
(5)Normally the Academic Council shall meet once in every four months on such dates as may be fixed by the Vice-Chancellor, how ever, special meetings of the Academic Council can be called by the Vice-Chancellor.
