State of Andhra Pradesh - Subsection

Section 6(1) in Telugu Language Development Authority of Andhra Pradesh (Constitution) Rules, 2018

(1)Under Section 13 of the said Act, the Authority may exercise one or more of the following powers,
(a)To issue directions to departments and review the action taken on implementation of Telugu in a time bound manner duly considering the technical, financial and capacity building constraints;
(b)To seek and obtain information relating to implementation of Telugu from any officer of the Government or Legislature or High Court and such officer shall be bound to furnish the information sought by the Authority;
(c)To advise the State Government regarding implementation of its projects and programmes;
(d)To record any violation or dereliction of duty and to advise the appointing authority for imposing a penalty on any public servant;
(e)To impose and collect penalties, as prescribed under the rules;
(f)To prescribe and review syllabus and system of Telugu examinations conducted for testing public servants;
(g)To issue directions to Central Government establishments on use of Telugu in areas having interface with public;
(h)To review and protect the status of Telugu Medium Institutions and their continuation;
(i)To set up required offices at the State level and District level;
(j)To issue directions on implementation of Telugu as first language upto intermediate or equivalent education;
(k)To verify the learning levels of students upto intermediate or equivalent;
(l)To ensure teaching of Telugu Language as a subject in all the semesters upto degree;
(m)To ensure teaching of Telugu Language in all the technical courses like Medicine, Engineering and Law;
(n)To ensure teaching of Telugu Language as a subject in all English Medium Institutions;
(o)To ensure primary education is provided in all Government Institutions in Telugu Medium; and
(p)To co-ordinate with project works of centre for Telugu Classical Language of Government of India.
