Section 24 in The Shree Somnath Sanskrit University Act, 2005
24. Faculties.
(1)The University shall have the following Faculties;(a)Faculty of Sahitya (indluding Vedic study, Sanskrit language and its literature),(b)Faculty of Darshan (Indian Philosophy),(c)Faculty of Indian culture and Fine Arts including tradition of folklore of the State of Gujarat,(d)Faculty of Teachers' training (Shikshak-Prashikshan),(e)Faculty of modern science and ancient shastras such as Dharamshasra, Puranas, Ayurved, Astronomy, Menusctriptology, Epigraphy, Physics and Chemistry,(f)Faculty of a comparative study,(g)Such other Faculties as may be prescribed to meet with the objects and functions of the University.Each faculty shall comprise of such subjects as may be prescribed by the regulations.(2)Each Faculty shall consist of-(i)Dean of the Faculty, who shall be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from amongst University teachers and college, teachers by rotation in such manner as may be prescribed,(ii)three teachers nominated by the Vice-Chancellor from the University Departments other than the Deans of Faculty and colleges,(iii)two persons to be co-opted by the Faculty in respect of each Department in the Faculty from amongst such persons who are experts in the subject dealt with by the Department.(3)The term of the office of a member of a Faculty shall be such as may be prescribed by the regulations.
