Section 7 in The Arka University Act, 2012

7. Objects of the University.

The University shall employ a broad range of strategies to achieve its vision and objectives,-
(i)to formulate the niche areas for research & teaching keeping in mind the needs being socially relevant in creating a knowledge society;
(ii)to support, promote and undertake the advancement of university education leading up to and including undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral courses in arts, science, commerce, law, engineering, urban design, management, hospitality, music, linguistics and such other objects as the trustees may deem fit with prior approval of the State Government;
(iii)to establish Campuses and have study centers, constituent colleges and Regional Centres, at various locations in Karnataka and or to contribute and develop an understanding of educational change and social and human development; as per norms of the University Grants Commission with prior approval of the State Government;
(iv)to have holistic frame work for researching & teaching Architecture & Urban design, Heritage Conservation, Landscaping, Handicrafts & Graphic Design leading towards Eco-Friendly Construction, Energy Conservation, Heritage Conservation, Indigenous Manufacturing traditions;
(v)to provide instruction and training in specialized areas of Aerospace Engineering and Management, to provide for research for the advancement of and dissemination of knowledge, to undertake studies on the impact of Aerospace Technologies on National Development particularly rural development, connectivity and International Business, to do all such other acts and things as may be necessary or desirable to further the objects of creating a centre of excellence in Aerospace Engineering & Management;
(vi)to focus on Humanities, Social Science and Arts to develop a resource centre and research team to analyze and assess different dimensions of Public Governance;
(vii)to carve a niche in the fields of entrepreneurship & entrepreneurial research and to develop case studies including providing strategic advice to the Incubated Companies;
(viii)to create a dedicated research centre for the study of Ancient History and Culture with a focus on study of Ancient Manuscripts, collection and preparation of data base on Indian Plants which technical scientific terminologies used in the ancient Indian literature, editing & translating unpublished manuscripts, Identifying the characteristic features of ancient Indian contribution to psychology, with special emphasis an study of ancient History and Rich culture of Karnataka;
(ix)to institute degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions like award of credits on the basis of successful completion of academic work evaluated through multiple modern methods of assessment;
(x)to collaborate with any other universities, research institutions, nonprofit organizations, industry associations, professional associations or other organizations to conceptualize, urban design, develop and offer specific educational and research programmes, training programmes and exchange programmes for students, faculty members and others;
(xi)to undertake programmes for development and training of faculty and researchers of the University in partnership with any other University of quality across the world with prior permission of the State Government;
(xii)to undertake collaborative research and advocacy with any organizations with prior approval of the State Government;
(xiii)to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit and in particular, to make special provisions for integrated courses in humanities and sciences in the educational programmes of the University and to make appropriate measures for promoting interdisciplinary studies and research in the University;
(xiv)to provide an innovative system of University level education, flexible and open, in regard to methods and places of learning, combination of courses, eligibility for enrolment, age of entry, conduct of examination and operation of programmes with a view to promoting access and equity in higher learning and to encourage excellence in the new fields of knowledge and to provide special emphasis on both the academic and application oriented learning;
(xv)to promote national integration and the integrated development of human personality through its policies and programmes.
