Section 5 in Andhra Pradesh Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions of Engineering/Pharmacy Diploma holders into Under Graduate Professional courses through Common Entrance Test) Rules, 2006

5. Method of Admission.

- The general guidelines for the admission of candidates into Professional Institutions offering Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be as follows,
(i)The admissions into all the University Colleges offering Under Graduate Professional Courses in Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be made through Single Window System in the order of merit on the basis of ranking assigned in ECET (FDH) as per Rule 6 of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders for admission into B.E., B.Tech. and B. Pharm courses Rules, 2004 by following the Rules of Reservation as prescribed in Rule 7 hereunder.
(ii)All the seats in Unaided Minority/ Non-minority Institutions offering Under Graduate Professional Courses in Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be filled as follows:
(a)All the seats shall be filled by the respective Institutions by admitting candidates as allotted by the Converner of ECET(FDH) admissions/Convener of ECET(FDH)-AC admissions, as the case may be depending upon the opinion exercised by the institution as per clause (iv) of sub-rule (a) of Rule 12 of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders for admission into B.E., B.Tech. and B.Pharm courses Rules, 2004.
(b)The admission of the candidates made in various Un-aided Non-Minority and Minority Professional Institutions shall be subject to scrutiny by the Inspecting Authority appointed for the purpose.
(iii)The Convener of ECET(FDH) admissions/Convener of ECET(FDH)-AC admissions shall allot candidates to Institutions in terms of Rules laid down herein.
(iv)The admissions shall be made in the order of merit on the basis of the ranking assigned in ECET(FDH)/ ECET(FDH)-AC as per Rule 6/14 of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders for admission into B.E., B.Tech. and B.Pharm courses Rules, 2004.
(v)The total number of candidates to be admitted in all the Under Graduate Professional Courses in Engineering (includingTechnology) and Pharmacy shall not exceed the limits prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education from time to time.
