1. Short title applicability and commencement.
- (i) These rules may be called the Andhra Pradesh Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions of Engineering/Pharmacy Diploma holders into Under Graduate Professional courses through Common Entrance Test) Rules, 2006.2. Definitions.
- (i) In these rules, unless the context to otherwise requires.3. Allotment of Seats.
- (i) University Colleges:The following seats shall be allotted by the Convenor, ECET (FDH) Admissions to eligible candidates on the basis of rank obtained at ECET (FDH) as per the provisions of Rule 6(ii)(a) and Rules of Reservation as laid down in Rule 7 hereunder:4. Eligibility Criteria for Admission.
- The eligibility criteria for Admission into Under Graduate courses Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be as mentioned below:5. Method of Admission.
- The general guidelines for the admission of candidates into Professional Institutions offering Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be as follows,6. Procedure of Admissions.
- (i) Each Unaided Minority Institution who has opted for ECET(FDH) as per clause (iv) of Sub-rule (a) in Rule 12 of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test for Diploma Holders for admission into B.E., B.Tech and B. Pharm courses Rules, 2004 shall indicate in writing to AFRC by a cut-off date specified by it, as to whether the Institution would admit students through the Single Windows System to be operated by the Convener of ECET(FDH) admissions (ECET(FDH) Window) or the Convener of ECET(FDH)-AC admissions (ECRT(FDH)-AC Window).(ii)The procedure for admission of candidates through the Single Windows operated by the convenors of ECET(FDH) and ECET(FDH)-AC shall be as follows:(a)To fill up (A) seats in case of University Colleges and (B) Seats in unaided Non-Minority Institutions who opted for ECET(FDH) and Unaided Minority Institutions who have opted for ECET(FDH) and ECET(FDH)-Window:7. Rules of Reservation for admission.
- Graduate Professional Courses in Engineering (including Technology) and Pharmacy shall be reserved, to the following categories in Admissions:(i)Region-wise reservation of seats: Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be unreserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.Explanation. - For purpose of these rules,(a)Local Areas means:| Group 'A' | - | 7% |

| (i) NCC | - | To the Director of NCC, Andhra Pradesh. |

| (iii) Physically handicapped | - | To the Director, Medical & Health Services, A.P |
| (iv) CAP | - | To the Director, Sainik Welfare Board, A.P. |
