Section 255 in Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994

255. Power of entry of inspecting officers.

(1)Any Officer or person whom the Government may empower in this behalf may enter on and inspect, -
(a)any immovable property, or any work in progress under the control of any Gram Panchayat, [Mandal Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Mandal Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] or the [Zilla Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Zilla Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.];
(b)any school, hospital, dispensary, vaccination station, choultry or other institution maintained by, or under the control of any Gram Panchayat, [Mandal Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Mandal Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] or [Zilla Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Zilla Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] and any records, registers or other documents kept in such institution;
(c)the office of any Gram Panchayat, [Mandal Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Mandal Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] or [Zilla Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Zilla Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] and any records, registers or other documents kept therein.
(2)The Gram Panchayat, [Mandal Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Mandal Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] or the [Zilla Praja Parishad] [Substituted 'Zilla Parishad' by Act No. 41 of 2006, dated 23.9.2006.] shall be bound to afford to the officer or person referred to in sub-Section (1) such access at all reasonable times, to its property or premises and to all documents as may, in the opinion of such officer or person, be necessary to enable him to discharge his duties under the said sub-Section.
