45. Closing of poll.
(1)The polling station shall be closed by the Presiding Officer at the hour appointed for closing and any elector shall not be admitted into the polling station:Provided that all electors present at the polling station before it is closed shall be allowed to cast their votes.(2)As soon as practicable after the end of the poll, the slit of the ballot box shall be closed with a slip, signature affixed and any candidate present be allowed to affix his signature on the same slip. The ballot box shall, thereafter, be kept secured.(3)Where it becomes necessary to use a second ballot box by reason of the first ballot box filled, the first box shall be closed, and secured as provided in sub-rule (2) before another ballot box is put into use.(4)All the items of the ballot paper account in Form-22 carefully filled and a copy of it issued duly signed to the candidate on request under due acknowledgement on the duplicate copy.(5)At the end of the poll, in the presence of the candidates or persons duly authorised in writing by the candidates who may be present, the following shall be made into separate packets for keeping in separate cloth-lined covers supplied: -Packet No. 1(a)unused ballot papers;(b)spoiled and returned ballot papers;(c)counter-foils of used ballot papers;(d)ballot papers cancelled for violation of voting procedure;(e)marked copy of the electoral roll concerned;(f)tendered ballot papers;(g)ballot paper account or accounts;(h)list of challenged votes.Packet No. 2(a)spare copy of electoral roll of the Territorial Constituency;(b)hand book of "Instructions to Polling Officer"(c)list of blind and infirm votes;(d)Diary of the Presiding Officer;(e)Booklet containing other forms and annexure used in elections duly filled in, as directed.Packet No. 3Stationery and other materials as directed.Counting of Votes
