Section 4 in U.P. Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals (Check Post and Quarantine Camp, Manner of Inspection etc.) Rules, 2016

4. Detention of animals and Form of permit.

(1)The Veterinarian in charge of Quarantine Camp or the staff of Department duly authorised for the purpose shall detain the following animals -
(a)which are suffering from any scheduled disease; or
(b)which have come into contract with or have been kept in proximity of animals infected with a scheduled disease; or
(c)which are transported by the in charge of check post as detailed in sub-rule (4) of Rule 3; or
(d)which are the species notified under Section 10 while exiting from the infected area and shall be subjected to a quarantine of fourteen days in a Quarantine Camp.
(2)The Veterinarian in charge of Quarantine Camp or the staff of Department duly authorised for the purpose shall give an official acknowledgement to owner of the animal or person duly authorised by him on his behalf for the animals detained in Quarantine Camp. The detention acknowledgement shall be in Form B.
(3)During Quarantine period the animal shall be suitably given identification and marked. Animals shall be examined regularly for any Schedule disease and be vaccinated against the Schedule disease and provided with veterinary treatment, if required. If an animal is vaccinated, the owner of the animal or person duly authorised by him, on his behalf shall be provided with a vaccination certificate as required in Section 9.
(4)After successful Quarantine process the Veterinarian in charge of Quarantine Camp or the staff of Department duly authorised for the purpose shall release the animals to the owner or person duly authorised by him on his behalf and also grant the Quarantine Release Permit in Form C under his signature. The said released permit shall also serve as Entry Permit as required in sub-section (2) of Section 15.
