G.S.R. 31(E), dated 1st February, 1975. - Whereas the draft of the Board of Trustees of the Port of Calcutta (Payment of Fees and Allowances to Trustees) Rules, 1974 was published as required by sub-section (2) of Section 122 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963) at pages 2093-2095 of the Gazette of India Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, sub-section (i), dated the 6th November, 1974, under the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Shipping and Transport (Transport Wing) No. G.S.R. 449(E), dated the 6th November, 1974, inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby till the expiry of a period of forty-five days from the date of publication of the said notification in the Official Gazette;And whereas the said Gazette was made available to the public on 11th November, 1974;And whereas no objections and suggestions have been received from the public;Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 122 of the said Act, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-

1. Short title and application.

(1)These rules may be called the Board of Trustees of the Port of Calcutta (Payment of Fees and Allowances to Trustees) Rules, 1975.
(2)They shall, subject to the provisions of section 18 of the Major Port Trusts Act, 1963 (38 of 1963), apply to the Board of Trustees of the Port of Calcutta.[2. Fees payable. - (1) Every Trustees of the Board, other than the Chairman, Deputy Chairman, or any other Trustees, who is a servant of the Government, shall be entitled to a fee of--
(i)rupees thirty for attendance at each ordinary or special meeting of the Board:
Provided that the aggregate amount of fees payable to any Trustee in respect of the meetings held during any calendar month shall not in any case exceed rupees two hundred.
(ii)rupees fifteen for attendance at each meeting of a Committee, other than the meetings of the Committee held on the same day in continuation or preparatory to, an ordinary or special meeting of the Board.
(2)A Turstee present at or for any meeting of the Board or Committee thereof shall sign his name in a book or register to be kept for the purpose.] [Substituted by G.S.R. 233, dated 7th February, 1977.]

3. Payment of travelling allowance.

- All outstation Trustees attending any meeting of the Board or any of its committee shall, in addition to such fee as is payable under rule 2, be entitled to receive travelling allowance on the scale applicable to the highest class of officers of the Central Government but shall not be entitled to receive any daily allowance.

4. Payment of certain allowance to a Trustee who is a Government servant.

- A Trustee who is a servant of the Government and who attends any meeting of the Board or of any of its committees shall be entitled to receive travelling allowance and daily allowance in accordance with the provisions of the service rules applicable to him.
