Section 7 in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992

7. N.C.C./Physical training/games/model making/discipline.

(1)Every student studying in an affiliated institution shall be required to opt one of the four extra-curricular activities i.e. N.C.C./Physical training/Games/Model Making marks shall be allotted for extracurricular activities and discipline separately;Provided that the guiding principle in allotment of marks in extracurricular activities and discipline should be in the ratio of 2 : 3 so opted;Provided further that this is subject to any further change, that may be made by the Board, from time to time :Further also that in the case of Part Time Course however, 100 per cent marks will be allotted for discipline as they do not get time for N.C.C./Physical Training/Games/Model making;
(i)Head of Institution will award marks to students according to their actual performance in the extra-curricular activities so opted;
(ii)The marks for discipline shall be awarded at the end of the practical and theory examination by the Principal in consultation with the Head of the Department and the members of the Faculty of that branch, provided the appease of any dispute in award of marks the Principal shall form a cumulates of at least three members of faculty of that branch in which dispute has occurred and shall award marks as recommended by the Committee to which the candidate belongs.
(iii)Where a substantial education of discipline marks for a Regular student is being made, reason for such deduction shall be recorded and preserved up to six months after the declaration of the result of Final Diploma Examination.
(iv)Marks for discipline already awarded to private candidates in the previous years/(5) semesters (5) of their being a regular student, can be received depending upon his/her behaviour in the ensuing examination as well during the relevant academic session of which he/she is an examinee;
Provided that in case of a reduction in marks of discipline already awarded, Principal/Centre Superintendent in consultation with the Head of Department/Assistant Centre Superintendent/Invigilator/Teachers shall review the marks and communicate it to the Board for recorded reasons thereto.
