Section 18(1) in The U.P. Pravidhik Shiksha (Admission Conduct of Examinations and Conferment of Certificates and Diplomas) Regulations, 1992
(1)The session at the Engineering or Technological institutions affiliated to the Board shall be as follows:(a)For courses running on Annual Basis-(i)For the First Year Class:From the 30 day of declaration of results of entrance examination to May 31 of year next following-(ii)From the 20th day of declaration of entrance test/merit list for the courses other than under the perview of Joint Entrance Examination Council, to the May 31 of the year next following.(iii)For Second Year, Third Year in the case of four years (Part time courses) and Final Year Classes or Post Diploma or for the students whose results are declared in accordance with Rule 28 from the 15th day of the declaration of results of I/II/III year classes by the Board of Technical Education, U.P., Lucknow to May 31 of the year next following :Provided that in a session, an institution is required to complete 24 weeks of study.(b)For Courses running on Semester Basis :(i)For I, III and V Semester-From 1st July to 15th November of a calendar year.(ii)For II, III and V Semester-From 11th day after the completion of examination of I/III/V. Semester or 10th December each year: provided that in each semester an institution is required to complete 12 weeks of training.
