Section 3 in The M.P. Janapada Panchayat Members (Travelling and other Allowances) Rules, 1995

3. Travelling and daily allowance admissible on tour.

(1)Subject to the provisions of these rules, the President, Vice-President and the members of the Panchayat shall be entitled to travel in higher class of bus of Vail as specified in column (4) of the following table and to draw daily allowance at the rate as specified in column (3) of the said table :-Table

(2)The President, Vice-President or any member who is getting any fixed honoraria shall not be entitled to draw daily allowance.
(3)The Total daily allowance payable in a month to the different categories as specified in column (2) of the following table shall not exceed the amount as specified in column (3) of the said table: -

(4)The members of Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly who arc ex officio member of the Panchayat by virtue of the provision of the Act shall not be entitled to draw any allowances under these rules.
(5)The President, Vice-President or any member whose place of residence is at a distance of more than eight kilometres from the place of meeting, subject to the provision of these rules, shall be entitled to draw,-
(i)Travelling allowance for the journey performed by him for attending a meeting of the Panchayat and back to his place of residence at the following rates,-
(a)by railway, one return actual fare of the Class in which he performs the journey;
(b)by road in a Public bus (stage carriage) one return actual fare;
(ii)Daily allowance for the day of meeting at the rate mentioned in sub-rule (1);
(iii)the travelling allowance under clause (1) of sub-rule (5) shall be calculated by the shortest route and cheapest mode of journey.
(6)The travelling allowance payable in a month to the different categories of members specified in column (2) of the following table, shall be limited to the maximum number of journeys undertaken as specified against each in column (3) of the said table :-Table
