G., Part 4-B, Page 1667) - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Bombay Cotton Control Act, 1942 (Bombay 30 of 1942), and in supersession of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Agriculture Department, Notification No. 2683/2853-X, dated the 28th April 1955, the Government of Maharashtra hereby-(i)fixes "Buri-L-147", "AK-235", "AK-277" and "Virnar (197-3)" as the four varieties of cotton (hereinafter each of them referred to as "the standard cotton"), the cultivation of which shall be permitted in the local areas specified in the Schedule hereto annexed (hereinafter referred to as "the said areas");(ii)prohibits in the said areas the cultivation of any variety of cotton with other than any standard cotton;(iii)prohibits in the said areas the mixing of any standard cotton with other standard cotton or of any other variety of cotton with the standard cotton;(iv)prohibits in the said areas the possession or use of, or trade in, any standard cotton mixed with any other standard cotton or any other variety of cotton whether or not mixed with any standard cotton.

Page 956) - in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3-A of the Bombay Cotton Control Act, 1942 (Bombay 30 of 1942), the Government of Maharashtra hereby, subject to the provisions of the said section 3-A, permits the standard cotton, namely, (a) L-147, 9 (b) AK-235, (c) AK-277, (d) Buri-1007 (Jagrish), (e) Hybrid-4, (f) MCU-5 and G, COT-10, to be mixed with the prohibited varieties of cotton specified in the Schedule hereto, in the manufacturing unit known as Chaware Enterprises, Karanja, District Akola.
