Section 44 in The Goa, Daman and Diu Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Rules, 1975

44. Norms for appointment of staff for the conduct of theory examinations for SSC/HSSC.

- The following norms shall be followed for appointment of the staff for conduct of theory examinations in SSC/HSSC,-
(1)Observer. - The Board shall appoint one Observer at every centre of examination, who is preferably a member or ex-member of the Board or a Head of the secondary/higher secondary school or any other person authorised by the Board.
(2)Conductor. - At every centre of examination, one conductor of examination shall be appointed by the Board who is a Head of secondary/higher secondary school or a senior teacher having the experience of working as Deputy Conductor.
(3)Deputy Conductor. - (a) At every centre and a sub-centre, a Deputy Conductor shall be appointed. The person to be appointed as a Deputy Conductor shall be a Head of institution or Assistant Headmaster or Vice-Principal or senior secondary/higher secondary teacher as recommended by the Heads of respective institutions.
(b)At the main centre, the Conductor and the Deputy Conductor shall not be from the same institution as far as possible.
(4)Supervisors. - (a) For the supervision work during examinations the Block/Stationery Supervisors shall be appointed as per norms laid down by the Board.
(b)The following norms shall be considered in preferential order for appointment as a Supervisor.
(i)Graduate/post graduate teachers in the Secondary/Higher Secondary Institution.
(ii)Under-graduate teachers from Secondary Schools.
(iii)Teachers from primary schools.
(iv)Laboratory assistant of the secondary/higher secondary school.
(c)A subject teacher shall be appointed as Supervisor, in the subject which he/she is not teaching.
(d)A Relieving Supervisor shall be appointed at every centre/sub-centre having a minimum number of 5 blocks upto 10 blocks. An additional relieving supervisor shall be appointed for every next group of 10 blocks. When the number of blocks is less than 5, the Stationery Supervisor shall function as a Relieving Supervisor.
(5)The other staff. - The other staff necessary for the conduct of examination shall be appointed at the places of examinations as per norms laid down by the Board.
