1. Short Title and Commencement.
2. Definitions.
3. Admissions to Engineering and Pharmacy Courses.
- Admissions to the First Year of the Bachelor of Engineering and Technology and Bachelor of Pharmacy and Diploma in Pharmacy shall be given as under, namely:-4. Seats Available for Admission.
5. Eligibility for Admission.
5A. [ Special Provisions relating to admission in certain Courses in Certain Universities. [Inserted by Notification No. GH /SH/12/2011 /PVS/102008/1317/S, dated 20.4.2011.]
- Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, admission in the academic year 2011-2012 in certain courses in certain Universities shall be granted in the following manner, namely:-5C. [ Special Provisions relating to admission in certain Courses in Navrachna University. [Inserted by Notification No. GH/SH/24/2012/PVS/102011/1502/S, dated 12.6.2012.]
- Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, admission for the academic year 2012-13 in the Bachelor of Technology Courses in the Navrachana University established under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 (Guj. Act No.8 of 2009) shall be granted in the following manner, namely:-6. Reservation of Seats.
| (a) Scheduled Caste | : | 7 % |
| (b) Scheduled Tribe | : | 15 % |
| (c) Socially and Educationally Backward Class,including Widows and orphan of any caste | : | 27 % |
7. Reservation For Physically Disabled Candidates.
- Three percent of the available seats in each category shall be reserved, in accordance with the provisions of the Persons With Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995 (1 of 1996), for the person with disability who can perform the academic activities in the respective course. A candidate with disability shall have to submit certificate of disability issued and duly signed by the Civil Surgeon.Explanation. - "person with disability" means a person suffering from not less than forty per cent of any disability as certified by a competent medical authority.8. Reservation for the Children of Defence personals and Ex-Servicemen.
9. Distribution of Seats between Students of Gujarat Board and Other Boards.
- For the purpose of admission, the available seats shall be distributed between students of the Gujarat Board & other Boards on pro-rata basis, taking into consideration the number of students passed from the Gujarat Board & other Boards in the relative academic year.10. Supernumerary Seats.
11. Preparation of Merit List.
- The merit list of the candidates who have applied for admission in the prescribed form, within the prescribed time limit and who are found eligible for admission under these rules, shall be prepared in the following manner, namely:-| {| | XY| x 100| }| (0.6), where the X is the marks obtained and Y is the total marks (maximum marks) in the qualifying examination). |
